1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Friends Africa, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform.
2. Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use Friends Africa.
3. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant Friends Africa a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you post.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You may not post illegal, harmful, or hateful content; harass, bully, or impersonate others; use automated tools to access the platform; attempt to circumvent security measures; or engage in spam, fraud, or deceptive practices.
5. Commerce & Transactions
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of product listings, fulfilling orders, and complying with local commerce laws. Friends Africa facilitates transactions but is not a party to the sale. Disputes should first be resolved between buyer and seller.
6. Live Shopping Seller Eligibility
To sell products through Live Shopping broadcasts on Friends Africa, sellers must meet the following criteria: (a) Be at least 18 years old; (b) Have a verified shop registered on the platform; (c) Have at least 100 followers on their Friends Africa account; (d) Have a valid government-issued ID on file and verified by our team; (e) List only compliant products that meet our product guidelines — prohibited items include weapons, tobacco, alcohol, counterfeit goods, adult content, and controlled substances; (f) Have an active payout account (bank account or mobile money) set up to receive earnings. Failure to maintain these criteria may result in suspension of live selling privileges. Friends Africa reserves the right to modify eligibility requirements at any time.
7. Prohibited Products
The following categories are strictly prohibited from sale on Friends Africa: firearms, ammunition, and weapons; tobacco and vaping products; alcohol and intoxicants; illegal drugs and controlled substances; counterfeit or replica goods; adult and sexually explicit content; stolen property; hazardous materials; live animals; and any items violating applicable local laws. Some categories such as cosmetics, food, and health products may require additional safety certifications. Only physical goods may be sold through Live Shopping.
8. Intellectual Property
Friends Africa and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Friends Africa Ltd. Our trademarks may not be used without prior written consent. Report intellectual property violations to [email protected].
9. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines. Our Triple Strike policy applies: first strike results in a warning, second in temporary suspension, and third in permanent account removal.
10. Limitation of Liability
Friends Africa is provided 'as is' without warranties. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you've paid in the past 12 months.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. We will notify you of material changes via the platform or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.
